Perils of having a 2 month old (today actually)...
I haven't slept more than 4 continuous hours in 8 weeks... He has, I haven't. In fact I don't think more than 3.
Most days, I haven't slept more than 4 hours total actually.... with a couple of 8 or even 10 hour "catchup" days in there.
I haven't slept at all for the least two days, just dozed a bit, 45 minutes at a time maybe...
I'm sick, and I'm exhausted... I'm going to pass out now... might be alive tomorrow.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Theater
Something came up in conversation today... and then again, a few hours later, with an entirely different person, who doesn't even know the other.
I figure that might be a sign I should share this.
The last time I was supposed to go to a concert, was the night my brother died (back in 2011).
I was driving down to see Joe Satriani at the Bing Crosby Theater in Spokane when I got the news.
My uncle David called me on the phone and said "Chris I'm so sorry"... and I had no idea what happened... I told him "What? Is it my mother?" (she had been very ill for a long time) and he said "Oh... no-one called you... You need to call your mother. Now".
Ok... So I called my mother... And found out my brother had died.
I was... stunned.
I pulled into the nearest bar, which happened to be Capones in Post Falls. I actually walked in, told the guy:
Jack Daniels, Robs favorite, in his honor.
Never did go to the concert.

Double Facepalm is Insufficient
Just found out that the wife, in a moment of technical idiocy (she's usually good at this sort of thing) negligently wiped out my primary windows PC...
But wait, it gets better...
She not only wiped the primary hard drive, she wiped the secondary hard drive as well, which is where the online backups for... oh about 15 years worth of data... were stored.
But wait, there's even more...
...and all the drives the machine was attached to directly... which includes all our other online files, all the other online backups etc...
In one moment, 15 years of data wiped out completely, including the backups...
The only thing left is the media server files (4tb of music and movies); and the offline backups, which are, in some cases, years out of date; since we went to a multiple online backup system a few years ago (when our backups got too big for our offline capability)...
...And they don't include ANY of the files for the last 3 years or so. Including critical financial and legal data.
Oh, there are some files left on the originating PC's, and some in "the cloud", but for the most part, the "current" files, and recent backups... and the backups of the backups... are gone.
3 copies... all gone... because she selected the wrong options on a "factory reset and restore" procedure.
...And she didn't tell me...
...For almost six weeks...
