The fallacy of "fair"

A fundamental truism:

In this life, you get what you're given, what you earn, what you make, or what you take.

You lose what you use, what you lose, what you spend, what you waste, what you give, and what is taken from you.

That's it. There is no such thing as "fair" or "deserve" when it comes down to cases. There are four ways to get what you get, and none of them involve "deserving it". There are six ways to lose what you have, and none of them involve "fairness". There are always more ways to lose, than to gain.

Seems some folks need a reminder of this.
