Or maybe I should call it a negligence report.
My brother has never had a drivers license, and cant see more than six feet in front of him clearly without glasses; which he doesnt wear.
Last night, after celebrating his brithday all night; my brother had a drunken car accident; which amazingly enough appears to have not been his fault (he was t-boned by a redlight runner according to the guy who was in the car with him).
He had at least two cracked ribs and a concussion, some other injuries; and my mothers car which he was driving illegaly was completely totalled.
He's been released from the hospital, and arrested.
My brother is on probation for aggravated assault and posession charges. His arrest for DUI and driving without a license triggers an automatic revocation of his probation. He is not eligible for bail. He is also being held for two warrants in north carolina and massachusetts; both violating probation warrants there as well one for public drunkenness and tresspassing, and one for public drunkenness and posession.
This pretty much triggers an automatic two years (the sentence for the aggtravated assault and posession charges) AND he's going to have to face charges in Mass and North Carolina.
Honestly, I think this is a good thing for him. He needs to seriously unfuck himself and maybe jail will make that happen.
Unfortunately, that leaves my mother without someone to care for her; and without a car (the insurance SHOULD cover it, but that may be months from now). Mel and I can't take care of her, we're in bad enough shape ourselves.
Life really is a bitch sometimes isn't it.
